Marriage

Congratulations if you have found this page as you are planning on getting married. We hope the joy and excitement that you are currently experiencing will bless these days of preparation for the big day.

A wedding day, any wedding day, is the culmination of something that happened when one person agreed to marry another person. In one sense in that yes, the marriage happened, however custom and tradition draws us to celebrate that, often very private moment, in a more public way with family and friends around us to join in the joy and celebration.

Holy Name is a lovely spacious church with many option to accommodate what you may wish for your celebration. Our priest is experienced in helping couples take their ideas and dreams to fruition so the service is just what you had always hoped for. Despite what many might think, or indeed say, every marriage ceremony is different whether inside or outside a church building. You will be instrumental in decided what words, music and readings decorate your day, and also how you may want the church itself to be decorated.

You do not be a member of Holy Name or even the Scottish Episcopal Church to be married here. You can be married here, even if you have been previously married and divorced. The Scottish Episcopal Church is also permitted to conduct same sex marriages.
